GMGN AI (gmgn.ai) is a multi-chain memecoin trading terminal: a web app, a mobile app and a family of Telegram bots that combine token discovery, on-chain security checks, one-click buying and selling, copy trading, wallet tracking and automated orders in a single interface. If you are asking "what is GMGN AI", the short answer is that it is a fast front end for trading brand-new tokens on Solana, BSC, Ethereum, Base, Tron and several newer chains, paid for by a flat 1% fee on every trade.

It is not a centralized exchange, not a DEX with its own liquidity, and not a token project. GMGN routes your orders to existing on-chain pools on launchpads and DEXs, and charges for speed, data and automation. This is an independent guide; GMGN AI App Guide is not affiliated with GMGN.

Below you will find what the name means, where the platform came from, what it actually does, what it costs, who holds your keys, and how big it is according to DefiLlama data read 8 September 2026.

What does GMGN mean, and what does GMGN stand for?

GMGN has never published an official expansion of its name. The community reading, and the only one we can point to, is "GM GN": the crypto greeting "good morning / good night" that traders post at the start and end of a session. That fits a product built for people who watch new launches around the clock, but it remains an inference, not a documented fact.

The "AI" in "GMGN AI" comes from the domain, gmgn.ai. The platform does market AI-flavored features (an "AI Signal" tab in the mobile app and an Agent API for trading bots), but the domain predates those, so do not read the name as a claim that the terminal is an AI trading system.

A few naming notes that clear up common searches:

  • "GMGN meaning" and "what does GMGN mean" both resolve to the same answer: an unofficial greeting acronym used as a brand.
  • "GMGN io crypto" and "gmgn.io" are typos. The only official domains are gmgn.ai (app), docs.gmgn.ai (docs), gmgn.cc (chart embeds) and papi.gmgn.ai (API host). There is no gmgn.io or gmgn.com official website.
  • "GMGN Labs" appears as the Google Play developer name (GMGN Labs Limited). The iOS seller is a different entity, GraceMatrix Technologies Limited. GMGN's Terms of Service do not name a corporate entity; see the GMGN founder and team page for what is and is not public.

Is GMGN an exchange, a DEX or a trading terminal?

People search "GMGN exchange" and "GMGN DEX", but the accurate label is trading terminal:

Category Example Runs its own liquidity? Holds your keys? GMGN fits?
Centralized exchange Binance, Coinbase Yes (order book) Yes No
DEX / aggregator Raydium, Jupiter Yes / routes No (wallet-connect) No
Charts and analytics DexScreener No No No
Trading terminal GMGN, Axiom, Photon No, routes to pools Yes (hosted wallet) Yes

GMGN reads pool data from launchpads and DEXs (Pump.fun, letsbonk, Raydium LaunchLab and others), builds the swap, and submits it with your chosen priority fee and anti-MEV setting. What you pay for is the interface and automation, not access to liquidity. The custody model is where the GMGN platform differs from a pure DEX: a Telegram, Google or email login creates a GMGN-generated wallet per chain with the key on GMGN's side. That enables one-click trading and automation, and it is why a GMGN wallet is a hot trading account, not storage.

GMGN began as a wallet-tracking tool, and that tracker DNA (Smart Money, KOL, X Tracker, Wallet Radar) is still what separates it from a plain swap interface.

What products does GMGN offer?

The web terminal at gmgn.ai

The GMGN trading terminal is the main product. Its front page is "Trenches", three live columns of tokens labeled New, Almost Bonded (approaching bonding-curve graduation) and Migrated. Each row carries a security strip: mint authority, freeze or blacklist, top-10 holder percentage, LP burned, rug probability, dev rug history, insiders, snipers and bundlers. You can buy with a preset amount from the row or with hotkeys, and filter by market cap, liquidity, holders, age, dev holding, launchpad and keywords. Our how to use GMGN walkthrough covers the layout screen by screen.

Beyond Trenches, the GMGN website has New Pair, Trending and Discover tabs, a Smart Money leaderboard, a KOL/VC tracker, an X Tracker that surfaces tweets mentioning contract addresses, a Wallet Tracker with alerts, a Copy Trade rank, Insider and Bundler tabs, and a Dev Sold view.

Mobile apps

Per the App Store and Google Play listings, GMGN ships an iOS app ("GMGN - Meme Track", seller GraceMatrix Technologies Limited, iOS 15.6+, about 238.7 MB) and an Android app (package com.gmgn.app, developer GMGN Labs Limited, 100K+ downloads, roughly 3.9 stars from about 1,320 ratings, updated 21 August 2026). The app has five tabs: Discover, Monitor (AI Signal), Track, Assets and Order. Withdrawals still require the website, and there is no desktop app; see GMGN app download for safe install paths.

Telegram bots

GMGN runs one bot per chain: @GMGN_sol_bot (Solana), @GMGN_bsc_bot, @GMGN_swap_bot (Ethereum), @GMGN_base_bot and @GMGN_tron_bot, with @gmgnaibot as the main bot. The bots handle buys, sells, copy-trade setup, wallet management and referrals, but cannot withdraw. Details are in the GMGN Telegram bot guide.

API and gmgn-skills

Developers can register an API key at gmgn.ai/ai and trade through the OpenAPI / Agent API on papi.gmgn.ai. GMGN also publishes gmgn-skills, an MIT-licensed set of 12 skills for AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Cline, Codex, OpenCode) at github.com/GMGNAI/gmgn-skills, with about 556 stars as of September 2026. Trading through the API still pays the 1% fee. Start with the GMGN API overview.

Which chains does GMGN support?

As of September 2026 the web terminal lists Solana, BSC, Ethereum, Base, Tron, Blast, Monad, Robinhood Chain, Arc and Stable. You switch chains with a URL parameter such as gmgn.ai/?chain=sol or ?chain=bsc.

Two caveats:

  1. Copy trading is Solana-only per the docs, with a maximum of 10 concurrent copy tasks, and it requires Telegram login. Limit orders are capped at 100 active per account.
  2. The chain mix moves fast. Solana was 99.5% of activity in January 2025. In early August 2026 BSC was 58.9% and Solana 31.5%; by late August a competitor-cited DefiLlama split showed Robinhood Chain at ~58.6%, BSC 24.8% and Solana 12.7%. Robinhood Chain, an Arbitrum-stack L2 launched 1 July 2026, uses ETH for gas; a Medium/Coinmonks analysis counted 4.86M swaps and $947.5M through GMGN's router in one three-day window.

GMGN is no longer a Solana-only tool, and the chain you trade on affects fees, latency and available features. The GMGN chains guide has the per-chain breakdown.

What does GMGN cost to use?

According to GMGN's documentation (docs.gmgn.ai), the platform charges a flat 1% fee on every buy and every sell. There is no subscription and no extra surcharge for the sniper, copy trading or automation.

On top of the 1% you pay:

  • Priority fee, user-set between 0.0001 and 2 SOL, paid to validators. GMGN recommends 0.002–0.005 SOL for normal trades and 0.006 SOL or more for automated and limit orders.
  • Tip for private-node routing, 0.0001–2 SOL, again not kept by GMGN.
  • Anti-MEV requires at least a 0.002 SOL priority fee plus a 0.0001 SOL tip; three modes (off, reduced, secure).
  • Launchpad fees where they apply: Pump.fun-launched tokens carry Pump.fun's own 1%.

The priority fee is what surprises new users. A 0.1 SOL trade with a 0.006 SOL priority fee is a 6% on-chain cost before GMGN's 1%, while the same fee on a 1 SOL trade is 0.6%. Small positions get eaten by fixed costs. The GMGN fees guide works through the math, including copy-trade break-even points.

Who holds your keys on GMGN?

This is the part most "what is GMGN in crypto" explainers skip. GMGN's docs describe a "hosted wallet architecture", and since around 19 March 2025 private key export is prohibited on all chains, including for wallets you imported. Withdrawals require Google Authenticator 2FA, whitelisted addresses, a 3-hour hold after the first whitelist or an address change, and a 24-hour hold after re-binding 2FA, and can only be done on the website.

You can instead "Trade with Wallet" via Phantom or MetaMask, which keeps keys in your own wallet but disables Anti-MEV and automation. A Telegram login and a Phantom login create separate GMGN accounts that do not merge.

The practical rule: keep only what you are actively trading in a GMGN wallet and move profits out. Read is GMGN safe before depositing anything meaningful, and withdrawing from GMGN for the exact steps.

How big is GMGN?

Per DefiLlama fee adapters read 8 September 2026, GMGN is the largest memecoin terminal by recent fees:

Terminal 24h fees 7d fees 30d fees 30d share Lifetime fees
GMGN $2.56M $19.05M $45.50M 40.2% $303.4M
Axiom $1.28M $6.23M $39.04M 34.5% $769.2M
FOMO $1.68M $11.60M $24.98M 22.1% $56.5M
Maestro $0.08M $0.72M $1.73M 1.5% $143.4M
Trojan $0.04M $0.20M $1.18M 1.0% $226.8M
Photon $0.01M $0.09M $0.71M 0.6% $441.6M
BONKbot ~0 $0.02M $0.10M 0.1% $94.9M

GMGN's peak month was October 2025 at $44.6M, and its record day was 8 October 2025 at $6.87M. Lifetime fees grew from roughly $240M on 6 August 2026 to about $303M a month later. Axiom and Photon have larger lifetime totals because they dominated earlier cycles, which is why the GMGN vs Axiom comparison still matters for most traders. You can check current figures at defillama.com/protocol/gmgn.

Who is GMGN for, and who should skip it?

GMGN trading suits you if you trade brand-new launches where seconds matter, want discovery, security checks and execution in one screen, or want to copy specific wallets and run TP/SL, trailing take-profit or migrated-snipe orders without keeping a browser open (see GMGN copy trading). It also assumes you are comfortable with a hosted wallet for a balance you can afford to lose.

Look elsewhere if:

  • You need self-custody for every trade. Jupiter or a wallet-connect swap on DexScreener charges no GMGN-style platform fee and never holds your keys.
  • You trade sizes under ~0.1 SOL, where priority fees dominate.
  • You want perps, shorting, stocks or a paper-trading mode; GMGN's docs list none of these as of September 2026.

There is also no official GMGN token; anything called "$GMGN" is an imposter, as explained on the GMGN token page.

Frequently asked questions

What is GMGN AI in simple terms?

GMGN AI is a website, mobile app and set of Telegram bots for trading new memecoins quickly. It shows tokens as they launch, runs security checks, lets you buy or sell in one click, and can copy other wallets or run automated orders. It is not an exchange with its own order book; it routes trades to on-chain pools and charges 1% per trade.

What does GMGN stand for?

GMGN has never published an official expansion of the name. The community reading is "GM GN", the crypto greeting for "good morning / good night". Treat any other explanation as speculation.

Is GMGN a DEX or an exchange?

Neither in the strict sense. GMGN is a trading terminal that sits on top of existing decentralized exchanges and launchpads such as Pump.fun and Raydium. It does not run its own liquidity pools or a centralized order book, but it does hold your trading wallet in a hosted setup.

Which chains does GMGN support?

As of September 2026 the web terminal lists Solana, BSC, Ethereum, Base, Tron, Blast, Monad, Robinhood Chain, Arc and Stable. Copy trading is documented for Solana only. The chain mix changes fast: Solana was 99.5% of GMGN activity in January 2025, while Robinhood Chain led at roughly 58.6% over 30 days in August 2026.

How much does GMGN charge?

A flat 1% GMGN fee on every buy and every sell, with no subscription tier. On top of that you pay a user-set priority fee and optional tip that go to validators, not GMGN, plus any launchpad fee such as Pump.fun's own 1%.

Is GMGN a token or coin?

No. As of September 2026 there is no official GMGN token, NFT, points program or airdrop. Every "$GMGN" contract on-chain is an imposter. GMGN's own bug bounty pays in USDT.
