Everything trading under a "$GMGN" ticker right now was created by someone unaffiliated with the company, and every "claim" page promising free SOL is a phishing funnel.

• No token sale, presale, whitelist or allowlist.

The reason this matters more than usual: memecoin terminals are exactly the kind of product where users expect a token, because several competitors have run points campaigns. The clearest public statement on record comes from GMGN co-founder Haze in February 2025: the team was still discussing a token internally, with no final conclusion reached. That is the whole substance of it.

Read that carefully, because a lot of secondhand coverage rounds it up into something it is not:

As of September 2026 we could not verify any GMGN statement that supersedes it. So when you see a "gmgn token update" post claiming insider knowledge of a launch date, a snapshot block or a points multiplier, the correct prior is that the poster is making it up. There is no documented update to update.

The imposter "$GMGN" tokens

Roughly 50 unverified tokens using the "$GMGN" ticker exist on-chain. None are affiliated with GMGN. The largest of them sits under $5,000 market cap.

That last number is the useful tell. A real token launch from a protocol clearing tens of millions in monthly fees would not have a $5,000 ceiling. What you are looking at is a long tail of opportunistic tickers, most launched to catch exactly the search traffic that brought you here.

Common patterns among them:

1. Ticker squatting. Deploy "$GMGN" on Solana or BSC, add a logo scraped from gmgn.ai, wait for someone to search the ticker in a terminal and buy without checking the contract.
2. Fake "official" socials. A freshly created X account with the alligator mascot and a handle one character off from @gmgnai.
3. Reply-guy distribution. The contract address is posted only in replies under GMGN's real tweets, never anywhere GMGN controls.
4. Bundled launches. A large share of supply held by coordinated wallets at launch, which GMGN's own security panel will flag as bundlers or insiders.

How to verify there is no GMGN coin in one minute

Do not take our word for it. Run this yourself, in this order. It takes under a minute and it will keep working after this page is stale.

1. Check X. Open x.com and look at @gmgnai — that exact handle, read character by character. A genuine token launch would be pinned there.
2. Check Telegram. Open t.me/gmgnai, the official group. Same logic.
3. Check the blog. Open gmgn.ai/blog. Product launches get written up there.
4. Check the docs. Open docs.gmgn.ai. If a token existed, the fee, rewards or tokenomics pages would reference it.
5. Apply the four-source rule. A real launch appears in all four places. Anything appearing in none of them — a DM, a reply, a Discord "announcement" from a non-admin, a third-party "airdrop checker" — is an imposter.

Two failure modes to avoid while doing this. First, never search for GMGN and click a sponsored result; typosquats such as app-gmgn-ai.com, gmgn-tracker and gmgn-app.at have all been observed. There is no gmgn.io or gmgn.com official site, and the common misspellings "gmgn ia" and "www gmgn ia" all mean gmgn.ai. Second, never connect a wallet to a page you reached from a reply. GMGN NFT. No official collection exists. Unofficial collections using GMGN's green alligator mascot show up on marketplaces periodically. GMGN has run merch and collab drops promoted on X — community reports mention keyboard and apparel collaborations — but those are physical merch, not NFTs, and we could not verify product pages. What is the GMGN launchpad, and what is "Cooking"?

This is where genuine confusion is reasonable, because GMGN does have a token-launch feature. People search "gmgn launchpad" and "gmgn cooking" and conclude GMGN issues tokens. It does not issue its own.

Cooking is GMGN's feature for launching a token. Two facts matter:

• Launching a token via GMGN's Cooking feature costs 0 from GMGN. The underlying launchpad's own fee still applies — Pump.fun-launched tokens carry the launchpad's 1% on top of GMGN's 1% trading fee.
• A token launched through Cooking is an ordinary community memecoin. GMGN did not create it, endorse it or back it, and its existence says nothing about an official GMGN token.

Scam promo patterns: "lucky spins", "100 SOL bonus", "claim free SOL"

These three phrases have real search volume and no real product behind them. GMGN documents a rewards page at gmgn.ai/rewards, which is a referral and rewards dashboard. It does not document a spin wheel, a signup bonus of any size, or a free SOL claim.

The structural giveaway across all of them: GMGN's actual money flow runs one direction. You deposit, you trade, GMGN takes 1%, and the referral system pays referrers out of fees that were already collected. There is no mechanism in the documented product where GMGN hands SOL to a new user for showing up. Three hard rules:

• GMGN will never DM you first about a bonus, a claim or a token.
