If you want to know how to use GMGN, the short version is: log in at gmgn.ai, deposit the gas token of the chain you want to trade on, find a token in the Trenches or New Pair feed, check the security panel, set your slippage and priority fee once, and buy with Quick Buy. Selling, take-profit, stop-loss, and withdrawals all happen from the same interface.

The parts people get wrong are the settings (priority fee too high, slippage too low, Anti-MEV off), skipping the security checks, and not understanding that GMGN holds your keys. This GMGN tutorial walks through each step in the order you will actually do it, with the numbers GMGN itself documents at docs.gmgn.ai as of September 2026. This is an independent guide; GMGN AI App Guide is not affiliated with GMGN.

What is GMGN and can you trade on GMGN?

GMGN (gmgn.ai) is a multi-chain memecoin trading terminal. It combines token discovery (the "Trenches" feed of new launches), per-token security checks, one-click buying and selling, copy trading, wallet tracking, and automated orders in one browser tab. Its docs tagline is "Fast Trade, Fast Copy Trade, Fast AFK Automation."

So yes, you can trade on GMGN directly. It is not a charting site that sends you elsewhere to swap. When you log in, GMGN generates a hosted wallet for each supported chain, and every buy or sell you place is signed by that wallet on GMGN's infrastructure. Supported web-terminal chains as of September 2026 are Solana, BSC, Ethereum, Base, Tron, Blast, Monad, Robinhood Chain, Arc, and Stable. You switch chains with the selector in the top bar (or gmgn.ai/?chain=sol, ?chain=bsc, and so on). Most memecoins go to zero; GMGN is a tool, not an edge.

Step 1: Log in and get your GMGN wallet

Go to gmgn.ai and click Log in. GMGN offers Telegram, Google, email and password, Phantom, MetaMask, and (in the app) QR-code login. For a first account, Telegram or email is the simplest route because it creates a GMGN-managed wallet you can use for every feature, including copy trading and automation.

Two things to know before you pick:

  • Telegram login and Phantom login create separate accounts. They do not merge. If you log in with Telegram today and Phantom tomorrow, you will see two different wallets and two different balances.
  • "Trade with Wallet" (browser extension wallet) keeps your keys in Phantom or MetaMask but loses Anti-MEV and every automation feature. It is fine for occasional manual swaps, not for the workflow described here.

Once you are in, open Settings and enable Google Authenticator 2FA immediately. It is mandatory for withdrawals anyway, and enabling it before you deposit avoids the 24-hour hold that applies after re-binding 2FA later. The full method-by-method walkthrough, including the "Just a moment" Cloudflare screen and UID lookup, is in the GMGN login guide.

Step 2: Fund the wallet

Click your wallet address in the top right (or the Assets tab in the app) to see the deposit address for the current chain. Send the chain's gas token to it: SOL for Solana, BNB for BSC, ETH for Ethereum and Base, TRX for Tron.

Rules that GMGN's docs and the terminal itself enforce:

  1. Keep at least 0.05 SOL in reserve on Solana for gas and token-account rent. If you try to spend it all you will hit "Exceeds wallet balance."
  2. Each token you buy on Solana locks a small amount of SOL as rent for its token account. GMGN's "Max" sell leaves this behind on purpose.
  3. Size deposits to your trade size. The flat 1% fee plus priority fee means a 0.1 SOL trade at GMGN's 0.006 SOL default priority fee spends 6% on-chain before the 1% fee. The GMGN fees guide has the full breakdown and worked examples.

There is no KYC step in GMGN's published documentation; deposits are live as soon as the transaction confirms.

GMGN gives you several feeds, each tuned to a different stage of a token's life:

  • Trenches has three live columns: New (just launched on Pump.fun, letsbonk, Raydium LaunchLab, and other launchpads), Almost Bonded (approaching bonding-curve graduation), and Migrated (liquidity has moved to a DEX pool). This is where the earliest and riskiest entries live. The GMGN Trenches and sniper guide covers it in depth.
  • New Pair lists freshly created liquidity pools across the chain.
  • Trending ranks tokens by recent volume and activity over selectable time windows.
  • Discover and the Smart Money leaderboard show what wallets GMGN tags as profitable are buying.

Apply filters before you read anything. GMGN lets you filter by market cap, liquidity, holder count, token age, dev holding, top-10 percentage, sniper, insider and bundler percentages, socials, keywords, and launchpad, and you can save presets. A sensible starting point is minimum liquidity, minimum holder count, and a cap on top-10 concentration; the GMGN filters guide shows example presets.

Step 4: Read the security panel before you buy

Click any token to open its page. The security panel (usually on the right side of the chart) is the most important thing in this GMGN guide. Per GMGN's docs, it checks:

Check What you want to see Why it matters
Mint authority Disabled Enabled means the dev can print unlimited supply
Freeze / Blacklist None Frozen accounts cannot sell
Top-10 holders Low percentage High concentration means a few wallets can dump on you
LP burned High percentage Unburned LP can be pulled (rug)
Rug probability / dev rug history Low, no prior rugs GMGN tracks the deployer's past tokens
Honeypot (ETH) / buy-sell tax Not a honeypot, low tax You may be able to buy but not sell
Insiders / snipers / bundlers Low percentage Coordinated launch buying that can be sold into you
Dev sold Not yet, or disclosed The creator exiting is usually the top
Phishing flag Absent Token or wallet flagged for suspicious behavior

No single green tick makes a token safe, and a fully green panel does not stop a dev from simply selling. But a red flag on mint authority, freeze, or honeypot is a hard no. GMGN also labels wallets in the holder list ("Smart Degen," "Fresh wallet," "Sniper," "KOL," "Phishing") so you can see who is on the other side of your trade.

Step 5: Configure GMGN settings (slippage, priority fee, Anti-MEV)

Open the trade panel's settings gear. These GMGN settings apply to every Quick Buy and manual trade until you change them. The table below uses GMGN's own documented recommendations.

Setting GMGN's recommendation Notes
Slippage (manual trade) Auto Lets GMGN estimate from pool depth
Slippage (auto / limit / copy orders) 30-35% Higher because fills happen without you watching
Slippage (brand-new bonding-curve token) 50%+ Price moves fast in the first minutes
Priority fee (normal trade) 0.002-0.005 SOL Default is 0.006 SOL; lower it for calm markets
Priority fee (auto / limit orders) 0.006 SOL+ Orders that must fill at a trigger need more
Tip (private node) 0.0001-2 SOL user-set Minimum 0.0001 SOL for Anti-MEV
Anti-MEV On (reduced or secure) Needs min 0.002 SOL priority fee + 0.0001 SOL tip
SOL reserve 0.05 SOL Do not spend it

A few clarifications:

  • Priority fee and tip go to validators and private nodes, not to GMGN. GMGN's revenue is the 1% fee only.
  • Anti-MEV shipped in July 2025 with three modes (off, reduced, secure) after an April 2025 report found GMGN users absorbed roughly 30.8% of Solana sandwich-attack profits in 30 days. Leave it on.
  • Custom RPC is available in settings. If you see "No Available Router," the no available router troubleshooting page explains when switching RPC helps.

Submission failures (GMGN's B-codes) cost nothing, but execution failures (C1 slippage revert) burn gas and the priority fee. That is the argument for slightly higher slippage on volatile tokens rather than repeatedly failing.

Step 6: Buy with GMGN Quick Buy or the trade panel

There are three ways to place a buy:

  1. GMGN Quick Buy. Each row in Trenches shows preset amounts (for example 0.1, 0.5, 1 SOL, which you can customize). One click sends a buy with your saved settings. This is what most Trenches traders use.
  2. Hotkeys. Simple mode: hold Z and press the row's key. Combo mode: Space, then the column key, then the row key. Useful when you are watching three columns at once.
  3. Trade panel on the token page. Type an amount or pick a percentage of balance, review the slippage and fee shown, and click Buy. This is the safer choice for larger sizes because you see the estimated output before sending.

After the transaction lands, the token appears in your Holdings panel with entry price, current value, and unrealized PnL. One caution: GMGN's PnL figure does not reliably deduct priority fees and tips, so judge performance by wallet balance change, not the green number.

Step 7: Manage the exit with TP/SL and limit orders

Trading on GMGN without an exit plan is how most losses happen. GMGN supports take-profit and stop-loss (TP/SL) including batched TP/SL at several levels, trailing take-profit, limit buy and sell orders (max 100 active per account), Dev-sell auto-sell that exits the moment the creator sells, and migrated snipe / migrated sell for bonding-curve graduations.

To set a TP/SL: open the token page, switch the trade panel to the Auto or TP/SL tab, enter trigger prices or percentages and the portion to sell, confirm slippage (30-35% for automated orders), and save. Auto-created TP/SL orders are valid for 24 hours, so re-check positions you hold longer. Details and edge cases are in the GMGN limit orders and stop-loss guide.

To sell manually, use the Sell tab with percentage buttons (25%, 50%, 100%). "Max" leaves the rent and gas reserve behind, which is intended.

Step 8: Withdraw your profits

Withdrawals happen on the website only; the Telegram bot and the mobile app cannot send funds out. The process, per GMGN's docs:

  1. Open Wallet, choose Withdraw, and pick the chain.
  2. Add the destination address to your whitelist. A 3-hour hold applies after the first whitelist or any address change.
  3. Enter the amount (Max leaves gas and rent) and confirm with your Google Authenticator code.

Remember that private-key export is disabled on all chains, so withdrawing to a wallet you control is the only way to take custody. The GMGN withdraw and wallet guide has the exact flow and timing rules.

How to use GMGN AI features once the basics work

People search "how to use gmgn ai" expecting a chatbot. GMGN's "AI" is signal and tracking tooling, not a conversational assistant:

  • Monitor / AI Signal in the app surfaces tokens matching momentum patterns.
  • Wallet Tracker lets you follow specific wallets and get alerts when they trade. See the GMGN wallet tracker guide.
  • Copy trading mirrors a wallet automatically (Solana only, max 10 tasks, Telegram login required). The GMGN copy trading guide covers filters and break-even math.
  • X Tracker shows tweets that mention a contract address.

None of these replace the security panel. Copying a wallet GMGN tags as smart money still exposes you to that wallet's exit timing and to your own fees.

Common mistakes in any GMGN tutorial

  • Leaving the priority fee at the 0.006 SOL default for tiny trades. On 0.1 SOL that is 6% before the 1% fee.
  • Setting slippage to 5% on a new launch and paying gas for a string of C1 reverts.
  • Buying from the Trenches "New" column without looking at bundler and insider percentages.
  • Depositing to a lookalike domain. Only gmgn.ai and its subdomains are official; the GMGN phishing check lists known typosquats.
  • Treating the GMGN wallet as storage. It has no key export; move profits out.

Key takeaways

  • How to use GMGN in one line: log in, deposit gas token, filter Trenches, check the security panel, set slippage and Anti-MEV once, Quick Buy, exit with TP/SL, withdraw with 2FA.
  • GMGN's own recommended settings: Auto slippage for manual trades, 30-35% for automated orders, 0.002-0.005 SOL priority fee for normal trades, Anti-MEV on, 0.05 SOL reserve.
  • The flat 1% fee is the only thing GMGN keeps; priority fees and tips go to validators.
  • Telegram and Phantom logins are separate accounts; browser-wallet mode loses Anti-MEV and automation.
  • Keys cannot be exported, so withdraw profits to a wallet you control.

Frequently asked questions

Can you trade on GMGN directly?

Yes. GMGN is a trading terminal, not just a tracker. After logging in you get a GMGN-hosted wallet per chain; deposit funds and you can buy and sell tokens on Solana, BSC, Ethereum, Base, Tron, and other supported chains from the same page you research them on. GMGN charges a flat 1% fee per buy and per sell.

How much money do I need to start trading on GMGN?

There is no documented minimum deposit, but on Solana GMGN advises keeping at least 0.05 SOL in reserve for gas and token-account rent. With the 1% fee plus a 0.002-0.006 SOL priority fee per transaction, trades under about 0.1 SOL lose a large share of their value to costs, so most traders start with more.

What slippage should I set on GMGN?

GMGN's own recommendation is Auto slippage for manual trades, 30-35% for automated orders such as limit orders and copy trades, and 50% or more for brand-new tokens that are still on a bonding curve. Higher slippage fills more reliably but lets you get a worse price.

What is GMGN Quick Buy?

Quick Buy is a set of preset buy amounts shown on each token row in Trenches and on the token page. One click sends a buy at that amount using your saved slippage, priority fee, and Anti-MEV settings, so you do not have to type an amount. Hotkey modes (hold Z plus a row key, or Space plus column and row) do the same from the keyboard.

Does GMGN work on mobile?

Yes. GMGN has an iOS app and an Android app, and the web terminal also works in a mobile browser. Withdrawals, however, must be done through the website, and some automation features are easier to configure on desktop.

Is GMGN safe to use for beginners?

GMGN is a hosted-wallet platform: it holds the private keys and does not allow key export. Treat your GMGN wallet as a hot trading balance, enable Google Authenticator 2FA before you deposit anything meaningful, and only ever use the gmgn.ai domain.
