GMGN PnL is the profit-and-loss figure GMGN calculates for every position you hold, every wallet you look at, and every trade you close. It shows up in three places: your positions panel, the wallet page for any address, and the wallet tracker feed. It is also the number behind the PnL cards that flood X every time a memecoin runs.

Here is the part most guides skip: the displayed PnL does not reliably deduct the priority fees and tips you paid to land each transaction. On a 0.1 SOL trade with GMGN's recommended 0.006 SOL priority fee per leg, that omission is roughly 12 percent of the position across a round trip. Your PnL can read green while your balance went down. The rule is simple: PnL for direction, wallet balance for truth.

This guide explains where each PnL figure comes from, how realized and unrealized differ, how to read another wallet's PnL and win rate before you copy it, what "jeet" and "paper hands" mean in GMGN's holder lists, and the misreadings that cost traders money. This is an independent guide; GMGN AI App Guide is not affiliated with GMGN.

Where does PnL appear on GMGN?

Location What it shows Typical use
Positions panel (token page and Assets tab) Per-token unrealized PnL, average entry, current value, sold amount Managing an open trade
Wallet page (your own) Realized and unrealized PnL over 7d / 30d, win rate, total trades, distribution of outcomes Reviewing your own performance
Wallet page (any address) Same fields for any wallet, plus behavior tags Vetting a wallet before copy trading
Wallet tracker feed Each tracked wallet's trade with its PnL on that token Spotting who is profitably in or out
Holder list on a token page Each holder's buy amount, sold amount, remaining, and PnL on that token Reading whether early buyers have exited
Copy trade rank / Smart Money leaderboard Ranked wallets by PnL and win rate Finding wallets to follow
PnL card Shareable image of one trade Posting to X

Everything is derived from on-chain swap data, so the figures for any wallet are public. That is what makes GMGN wallet PnL useful for research and also what makes it easy to game, which we cover below.

Realized vs unrealized PnL on GMGN

  • Unrealized PnL is the value of tokens you still hold at the current price minus what you paid for them. It moves with every tick and can evaporate in a single candle on a thin pool.
  • Realized PnL is the difference between what you received on sells and the cost basis of the tokens sold. It is locked in.

For a partially sold position, GMGN shows both: the realized slice you have banked and the unrealized slice still at risk. A common trap is reading a large unrealized number as money. Until you have sold into real liquidity, it is a quote, and on memecoins a quote for a position that is a meaningful share of the pool overstates what you could actually extract.

Why does GMGN PnL ignore priority fees and tips?

Per GMGN's fee documentation, three costs hit every trade:

  1. GMGN's flat 1 percent fee on every buy and sell, taken from the swap amount.
  2. Priority fee, user-set between 0.0001 and 2 SOL, paid to validators.
  3. Tip for private-node routing, 0.0001 to 2 SOL, paid to Jito-style nodes.

The 1 percent fee reduces the token amount you receive, so it flows into PnL automatically. The priority fee and tip are separate SOL debits that do not touch the token quantity, and GMGN's PnL calculation does not reliably subtract them. Gas burned on execution failures (C1 slippage reverts) is likewise invisible to PnL.

The effect is proportionally worst on small trades. From GMGN's own fee examples: a 0.1 SOL trade at 0.006 SOL priority fee costs 6 percent per leg; at 1 SOL the same fee is 0.6 percent. A trader flipping 0.1 SOL positions with a displayed PnL of plus 8 percent has, after two legs of priority fees, lost money. The GMGN fees guide has the full break-even table.

Practical fix: note your wallet balance in SOL before a session and after. That delta, not the sum of the PnL column, is your result.

How to share a GMGN PnL card

The gmgn pnl card is a generated image showing the token, your entry and exit, and the percentage and absolute gain or loss. To make one:

  1. Open the token page or your positions list.
  2. Find the share icon next to the position or the closed trade.
  3. Choose the card style and whether to show absolute SOL or only the percentage.
  4. Download or share directly to X.

Two honest notes on cards you see from others:

  • A card shows one trade, chosen by the poster. Nobody shares the twelve minus 60 percent cards that preceded the plus 900 percent one.
  • The card uses the same fee-blind PnL as the rest of the platform. A plus 15 percent card on a small position may be a real loss.

If you are evaluating a trader from their cards, open their wallet page instead. It shows the whole distribution, including the losers.

How to read another wallet's PnL and win rate

This is the core skill for GMGN copy trading and for deciding whether a wallet in a holder list is worth tracking. Paste the address in the search bar or click it from any list. On the wallet page, check:

  1. Realized PnL over 7 days and 30 days. A wallet that is up big on 7 days and flat on 30 caught one token. A wallet that is steadily positive on both windows has a process.
  2. Win rate. The share of closed trades that ended positive. On memecoins a 40 to 60 percent win rate with large winners is normal for a good trader; a 90 percent win rate with tiny wins often signals a bot scalping small moves, or a wallet that never sells its losers so they never count as closed.
  3. Total trades and average hold time. Ten trades is noise. Hundreds of trades with consistent sizing is a strategy.
  4. The distribution chart. GMGN groups a wallet's closed trades into return bands from large loss to large gain. A healthy profile has most trades in small-loss or small-gain bands and a tail of big winners that pay for everything. GMGN's documentation does not spell out the exact band boundaries, so read them off the legend on the page.
  5. Tags. GMGN labels wallets in holder and trade lists as Smart Degen, Bot Degen, Fresh wallet, Sniper, KOL, or Phishing. A Phishing tag means the wallet has shown phishing-style behavior or was tied to a suspicious token; treat its PnL as irrelevant and do not copy it. Fresh wallet with a huge win rate is a classic sign of a wallet created to look good.

The GMGN wallet tracker guide shows how to turn a promising wallet into an alert stream. For vocabulary such as KOL, bundler, and insider, see the GMGN glossary.

What do jeet and paper hands mean on GMGN?

Jeet is memecoin slang for a trader who sells early, usually for a small profit or to cut a small loss, right before a bigger move. Paper hands means the same thing; diamond hands is the opposite. Neither is a term GMGN uses in its interface, but both describe behavior that GMGN's holder lists make visible:

  • On a token page, the holder list shows each wallet's bought amount, sold amount, remaining balance, and PnL on that token. A wallet that bought at launch and sold 100 percent at plus 20 percent is a jeet on that token, and everyone can see it.
  • Holder rows carry behavior tags. Sniper (bought in the first blocks) and Bot Degen (automated pattern) frequently overlap with early exits because those wallets are built to scalp.
  • The "dev sold" flag in the security panel is the special case of the deployer jeeting their own token, and GMGN's dev-sell auto-sell order exists specifically to react to it; see the limit orders and stop loss guide.

A gmgn jeet check is simply this workflow: open a wallet that just bought a token you hold, look at its recent trade history, and see whether it habitually sells within minutes. If the top ten holders are all snipers with a history of fast exits, the token's "holders" number is worth less than it looks.

"gmgn ai jeet" as a search term has no product behind it. GMGN's AI Signal monitor in the app surfaces tokens by activity, not by predicting who will sell. The jeet check is manual, and it is one of the highest-value five-minute habits on the platform.

How to read the holder distribution on a token

The token page's holder view is a distribution chart of its own. Fields from GMGN's security panel that matter for PnL:

Field What a healthy reading looks like What a bad reading implies
Top-10 holder % Low double digits A few wallets can dump the pool on you
Insiders % Near zero Pre-launch wallets hold supply they got for free
Snipers % Low Early bots will jeet into your buy
Bundlers % Near zero Coordinated launch buys hide true distribution
Dev holding Small and unchanged A large dev bag that starts moving is your exit signal
Dev sold No Yes means the creator has already exited

These figures are the reason a token's chart and your personal PnL can diverge. If you hold 1 percent of supply and the top holder has 20 percent, your unrealized PnL is at that holder's mercy. Filters for these fields are covered in the GMGN filters guide.

What about GMGN rewards?

Searches for "gmgn rewards" usually land here because people assume there is a cashback or points program tied to trading PnL. There is not. gmgn.ai/rewards is the referral dashboard: it shows fees earned from traders you referred, at 10 to 30 percent of their trading fees (base 10 percent, higher tiers by application). GMGN does not document SOL cashback for traders on their own volume, and there is no official token, points program, or airdrop as of September 2026. Phrases like "claim free SOL," "lucky spin," or "100 SOL bonus" come from scam posts, not from GMGN. The GMGN referral guide explains what the dashboard actually pays.

Common GMGN PnL misreadings

  1. Treating unrealized as realized. A plus 300 percent open position on a $30k-liquidity token is not $300 of profit on a $100 buy; it is whatever the pool will pay you when you sell, minus slippage.
  2. Ignoring fees on small trades. As above: the 0.006 SOL default priority fee is about six times Axiom's roughly 0.001 SOL default (per a uwuu.ai review), and none of it shows in PnL. Small-size traders are the most misled.
  3. Copying a 7-day hero. One lucky token produces a spectacular 7-day PnL. Check 30 days and the distribution.
  4. Reading a high win rate as skill. Wallets that never sell losers keep them out of the realized column. Check the unrealized column and remaining holdings for bags at minus 90 percent.
  5. Trusting a Fresh wallet. A wallet with 20 trades, all winners, created two days ago, is often funded from a known wallet that is running a look-good campaign to attract copiers.
  6. Confusing chain PnL. Your Solana wallet and your BSC or Robinhood Chain wallet are separate GMGN-generated wallets with separate PnL. Neither figure includes the other; see the GMGN chains guide.
  7. Forgetting failed transactions. Execution failures (C1) burn gas and priority fee with no trade recorded, so a bad session of retries never appears in PnL.

How to keep an honest PnL record

  • Snapshot your SOL balance at the start and end of each session.
  • Export nothing you cannot verify: GMGN's PnL is fee-blind, so log priority fees separately if you trade small.
  • Review the wallet page distribution weekly, not the PnL card of your best trade.
  • Compare your realized 30-day PnL against the priority-fee spend implied by your trade count times your fee setting. If they are close, your edge is being consumed by execution cost.

Key takeaways

  • GMGN PnL appears in positions, wallet pages, the tracker, holder lists, leaderboards, and shareable PnL cards.
  • Realized PnL is banked; unrealized is a quote against a thin pool.
  • Displayed PnL does not reliably deduct priority fees, tips, or failed-transaction gas; wallet balance is the truth.
  • Read any wallet's PnL through the 30-day window, win rate, distribution, and tags, not through a single card.
  • Jeet and paper hands describe early sellers; GMGN's holder lists and Sniper and Bot Degen tags let you run a jeet check in minutes.
  • gmgn.ai/rewards is a referral dashboard, not trading cashback.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my GMGN PnL different from my wallet balance?

GMGN's PnL is computed from token buy and sell values and does not reliably subtract priority fees, tips, or gas burned on failed transactions. On small trades with a 0.006 SOL priority fee those costs are a large share of the position, so the displayed PnL overstates your result. Trust the change in wallet balance.

What is a GMGN PnL card?

A PnL card is a shareable image GMGN generates for a trade or position, showing the token, entry and exit, and percentage and absolute PnL. Traders post them on X. Because the card uses GMGN's fee-blind PnL and can be cropped to show one winning trade, treat other people's cards as marketing, not audited results.

How do I check another wallet's PnL on GMGN?

Paste the wallet address into the GMGN search bar or click any wallet in a holder or trade list. The wallet page shows realized and unrealized PnL over 7-day and 30-day windows, win rate, total trades, and a distribution of results, plus tags such as Smart Degen, Sniper, KOL, or Phishing.

What does jeet mean on GMGN?

Jeet is slang for a trader who sells early, usually for a small gain or a small loss, before a token's larger move. Paper hands means the same thing. GMGN does not display the literal word jeet, but its holder lists show who sold, when, and at what PnL, which is how traders run a "jeet check" on a wallet.

Does GMGN PnL include the 1 percent trading fee?

The 1 percent GMGN fee is taken from the swap amount, so it is reflected in the token amount you receive and therefore in the PnL. What is not reliably included is the separate priority fee and tip paid to validators, and gas lost on C1 execution failures.

What are GMGN rewards?

gmgn.ai/rewards is GMGN's referral dashboard. It shows fees earned from users you referred, at 10 to 30 percent of their trading fees. It is not a trading cashback program: GMGN does not document any SOL cashback or rebate paid to traders on their own volume as of September 2026.
