GMGN API documentation lives in one place: the Agent API section of docs.gmgn.ai, at docs.gmgn.ai/index/gmgn-agent-api. That section explains how to register a key at gmgn.ai/ai, how requests are signed with an Ed25519 key pair, which host to call (papi.gmgn.ai) and what limits apply. For working examples, the official gmgn-skills repository on GitHub is the more practical read.
This page is a reader's guide to GMGN's documentation rather than a second copy of it. It maps how docs.gmgn.ai is organized, tells you where each kind of answer lives, summarizes what the API docs actually cover, and lists the things people search for that the docs do not contain. If you want the API itself explained, read the GMGN API overview; if you want to create a key now, go to how to get a GMGN API key.
This is an independent guide; GMGN AI App Guide is not affiliated with GMGN. Structure and contents described as read in September 2026; GMGN updates its docs without a public changelog, so check the live pages.
Where are the official GMGN docs?
The official GMGN docs are at https://docs.gmgn.ai. That is the only documentation domain GMGN publishes. A few related addresses you will see referenced inside the docs:
gmgn.ai/ai: where you register and create an API key.papi.gmgn.ai: the API host your code calls. It is not a website to browse.github.com/GMGNAI: GMGN's official GitHub organization, home of gmgn-skills.
Searches like "docs gmgn ai", "gmgn doc" and "gmgn ai docs" all mean docs.gmgn.ai. Open it from a bookmark: fake documentation pages are a phishing format too, especially ones that ask you to paste a private key "to test the API". If you are unsure which GMGN domains are real, the GMGN official website guide lists them.
How is docs.gmgn.ai organized?
docs.gmgn.ai is organized as a tutorial index: short pages grouped by task rather than a reference manual. The main sections, and what each answers:
| Docs section | What you find there | Go here when you want to know |
|---|---|---|
| Quick start | Account setup, first deposit, first trade | How to begin on GMGN |
| Fees & settings | 1% fee, priority fee and tip ranges, Anti-MEV, recommended slippage | What a trade costs and which settings to use |
| Copy trade | Buy and sell methods, filters, Lightning Mode, task limits | How to configure copy trading |
| Security | Withdrawal 2FA, whitelist, holds, key export policy | How funds are protected and moved |
| Troubleshooting | Failure codes (A1, B1–B5, C1, D1–D3 and more) and raw error strings | Why a trade or order failed |
| Referral | Referral link formats and rebate rates | How the referral program pays |
| Agent API | Key registration, Ed25519 auth, host, endpoint categories, limits | How to build on GMGN programmatically |
The fees page has a stable address, docs.gmgn.ai/index/gmgn-fees-settings, and it is the page most guides cite. Our GMGN fees guide turns it into worked examples.
Is the GMGN documentation a GitBook?
"gmgn gitbook" is a common search because docs.gmgn.ai has the sidebar-and-pages layout of a hosted documentation platform. GMGN does not say which platform it uses, and it does not matter for readers. What matters is the domain: docs.gmgn.ai is canonical, and a GMGN-branded docs site on any other domain, including a generic gitbook.io subdomain, should be treated as unofficial unless gmgn.ai links to it.
Most trading questions are answered by Fees & settings and Troubleshooting together. Most developer questions are answered by Agent API plus the GitHub README.
Where does the GMGN API documentation live?
The GMGN API documentation is the Agent API section: docs.gmgn.ai/index/gmgn-agent-api. If you searched "gmgn api docs" or "gmgn ai api documentation", this is the page you want. GMGN uses "Agent API" and "OpenAPI" for the same product, so "gmgn openapi docs" and "gmgn agent api docs" lead to the same section. The naming reflects the target user: AI agents and scripts that read market data and place orders.
GMGN does not document a separate developer portal, sandbox site or SDK reference site. The documentation is the docs section, the key page at gmgn.ai/ai, and the GitHub repo.
What does the GMGN Agent API documentation cover?
The Agent API docs cover five areas. Read them in this order.
- Registration. Sign in at gmgn.ai/ai, generate an Ed25519 key pair, bind the public key, and receive an API key. Registration is free; trading through the API still pays GMGN's 1% fee per buy and sell.
- Authentication. Requests are signed with your Ed25519 private key and identified by your API key. You bind only the public key at gmgn.ai/ai; the private key does the signing, so it should never leave your machine.
- Host and testing. Calls go to papi.gmgn.ai. GMGN publishes a public demo key,
gmgn_solbscbaseethmonadtron, for testing before you register your own key. - Endpoint categories. The surface groups into token data (info, security, holders, K-line), wallet analysis, market and trending data, trading (market, limit and TP/SL orders, multi-wallet) and smart money signals. Read endpoint names and parameters from the live docs; do not copy them from third-party blogs.
- Limits. Rate limits apply, and higher limits are arranged with GMGN together with IP whitelisting. The docs describe the process; we could not verify a single fixed public number.
What the API docs do not cover is just as useful to know: no withdrawal endpoint, no documented control of managed copy-trade tasks, and nothing for perps, shorting or paper trading, because GMGN offers none of those.
Is the gmgn-skills README part of the docs?
In practice, yes. The gmgn-skills repository is GMGN's official open-source toolkit (MIT license, about 556 stars as of September 2026), and its README is the most hands-on GMGN documentation available. It covers:
- Installation:
npx skills add GMGNAI/gmgn-skillsfor AI IDEs, ornpm install -g gmgn-clifor the standalone CLI. - The 12 skills: token info, market trending, K-line, wallet analysis, holders, market/limit/TP-SL orders, multi-wallet trading, portfolio, contract due-diligence scoring, copy-trade wallet scoring and smart money.
- Supported tools: Claude Code, Cursor, Cline, Codex and OpenCode.
- Chains: Solana, BSC, Base, Ethereum, Robinhood Chain, Arc and Stable.
- Speed claim: order submission in under 0.3 seconds. That is GMGN's own claim, measured to its router, not an independent benchmark.
Check the repo's Wiki and Issues tabs as well. Where the Wiki has content, it supplements the README; open and closed issues often answer setup questions faster than the docs. Our gmgn-skills, CLI and MCP guide walks through setup in each AI IDE.
What can't you find in the GMGN documentation?
These are the most common "where is it in the docs?" questions, with honest answers.
| What people look for | Status as of September 2026 | What to do instead |
|---|---|---|
| WebSocket API docs | Not public; the web app uses WebSocket internally | Poll documented endpoints; treat reverse-engineered sockets as unsupported |
| Referred-user discount table | Not documented; docs describe 10–30% rebates to the referrer | Check gmgn.ai/rewards yourself; see the GMGN referral guide |
| Fixed rate-limit numbers | Not verifiable as a single figure | Back off on errors; contact GMGN about IP whitelisting |
| Corporate entity | Not disclosed in the Terms; BVI law and arbitration named | Read the Terms of Service directly |
| Withdrawal via API | Not offered | Withdraw on the website with 2FA |
| Copy-trade task control via API | Not documented | Build your own loop from wallet signals and trade endpoints |
| Public changelog | Not found | Re-read pages you depend on; watch the GitHub repo |
| Old "free" scraped endpoints | Never official; break often | Use the Agent API |
The old scraped endpoints deserve a word. Before the Agent API, bots hit undocumented internal GMGN endpoints, and tutorials from that era still rank. None of that was GMGN API documentation, and code built on it fails unpredictably.
How do you search the GMGN docs efficiently?
The docs are short pages, so targeted searching beats browsing.
- Search exact error strings. Paste the raw code, such as
trade_error_40002700ororder10013, with "gmgn". Both mean "No Available Router", covered in our No Available Router fix. - Use a site-restricted search. In Google,
site:docs.gmgn.ai copy tradekeeps results to official pages and filters out affiliate sites. - Use Ctrl+F on long pages. The fees and troubleshooting pages pack many numbers; search for "priority", "slippage" or the failure code letter.
- Map slang first. If you do not know what "bundler", "BC owner" or "K-line" means, check the GMGN glossary before searching the docs, which assume you know the terms.
- Cross-check with GitHub. For anything API-related, compare the docs page with the gmgn-skills README; when they disagree, the more recently updated one is usually right, and both beat third-party blogs.
Are GMGN docs available in other languages?
We could not verify official translations of docs.gmgn.ai as of September 2026. GMGN's community is international, so translated walkthroughs circulate, but those are third-party copies. Practical approach:
- Read the English docs with your browser's translate feature for comprehension.
- Check every number, fee and limit against the English page, because translations go stale.
- Never use a translated "docs" site on another domain to register API keys or connect a wallet.
How should you use the GMGN docs when building?
Builders get the most out of GMGN's docs by treating them as three layers:
- docs.gmgn.ai Agent API: the contract, meaning auth, host, categories and limits.
- gmgn-skills README: working usage, install commands and supported chains.
- gmgn.ai/ai: your key, and the only place you register one.
Everything else, including Discord snippets, YouTube tutorials and blog code, is unofficial. Before an agent trades real money, test calls with the demo key, then trade a minimal size with your own key, and remember every API trade pays the same 1% fee as a click in the terminal.
Key takeaways
- The GMGN API documentation is the Agent API section of docs.gmgn.ai; keys come from gmgn.ai/ai and calls go to papi.gmgn.ai.
- docs.gmgn.ai is a task-based tutorial index: quick start, fees & settings, copy trade, security, troubleshooting, referral and Agent API.
- The gmgn-skills README on GitHub is the most practical official companion to the docs.
- WebSocket feeds, referred-user discounts, fixed rate limits and the corporate entity are not in the docs.
- Search the docs with exact error codes and
site:docs.gmgn.ai, and treat translated or mirrored copies as unofficial.

Frequently asked questions
Where is the GMGN API documentation?
The official GMGN API documentation is the Agent API section of docs.gmgn.ai, at docs.gmgn.ai/index/gmgn-agent-api. API keys are created at gmgn.ai/ai and requests go to papi.gmgn.ai. The gmgn-skills repository at github.com/GMGNAI/gmgn-skills is the official practical companion.
Is the GMGN documentation on GitBook?
People search "gmgn gitbook" because the docs look like a hosted documentation site, but GMGN does not state what platform it uses and it does not matter. The canonical address is docs.gmgn.ai. Treat any GMGN docs copy hosted on another domain as unofficial.
Does the GMGN documentation cover WebSocket streams?
No. GMGN's web app streams data over WebSocket, but as of September 2026 there is no public WebSocket documentation. Anything you find about GMGN WebSocket endpoints comes from reverse-engineering and can break without notice.
Do the GMGN docs list rate limits?
The docs say rate limits apply and that higher limits are arranged with GMGN in combination with IP whitelisting. We could not verify a single published requests-per-second figure as of September 2026, so design for throttling and back off on errors.
Are the GMGN docs available in other languages?
We could not verify official translations of docs.gmgn.ai as of September 2026. If the docs show a language switcher, use it; otherwise browser translation works for reading. Treat third-party translated copies as unofficial and check numbers against the English source.
Open the official terminal, install the iOS or Android app, or start with the Telegram bot. Keep only trading capital in the wallet.
